CSM appointed exclusive advisor to Basketball Finland
September 11, 2025
The Finnish Basketball Federation (Basketball Finland) has appointed Commercial Sports Media (CSM) as its new exclusive advisor for media rights and betting sponsorship opportunities.
The partnership will cover all domestic leagues, including the men’s and women’s Korisliiga, as well as Finland’s men’s and women’s national teams, starting from the 2026/27 season. All current agreements with broadcasters and partners run until the end of the 2025/26 season.
The announcement comes at a moment of huge momentum for Finnish basketball. The men’s national team, Susijengi, has captured international headlines with its stunning performances at EuroBasket 2025, including the win over Serbia in the Round of 16s. Following that, Finland defeated Georgia 93–79 in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals – a historic achievement. This success is underpinned by a golden generation of Finnish players making their mark at the very highest level, led by NBA All-Star Lauri Markkanen and supported by a growing group of internationally established and young Finnish stars.
“We are proud to be chosen as Basketball Finland’s advisor at this important moment. Finnish basketball has shown remarkable growth in recent years, both on and off the court, and we look forward to helping the federation unlock further value in media rights and sponsorship as the sport continues to rise.”, says Anders Wistrand, Founding Partner at CSM.
“Our sport is entering an exciting new era. With CSM’s experience and international network, we are confident that Finnish basketball can strengthen its position on the global stage while creating new opportunities for our leagues, clubs, and partners.”, says Kati Packalén, Managing Director of Basketball Finland.
