Commercial Sports Media welcomes the extension of the long-term media rights partnership between Liiga and MTV, securing exclusive coverage of Finland’s top professional ice hockey competitions through the end of the 2031/32 season.

From the 2027/28 season, Liiga will become the organisation responsible for Finland’s two highest professional ice hockey leagues, introducing a new league structure that includes promotion and relegation between the top divisions. The new long-term media rights agreement provides stability and a strong commercial platform as Finnish elite hockey enters this new chapter.

Commercial Sports Media has served as Liiga’s exclusive media rights advisor since the 2017/18 season, working alongside the league through a period of significant commercial growth and media development. Throughout the latest rights process, the company advised Liiga on the successful renewal of its partnership with MTV, ensuring long-term continuity for clubs, fans, broadcasters and commercial partners.

The agreement guarantees that Finland’s two premier professional ice hockey leagues will remain available exclusively on MTV’s platforms through spring 2032.
